After working at Disarming Films and prior to joining WILLA, Avery worked on projects including Lisa Cortés’s EMPIRE OF EBONY (currently in post production) with Roger Ross Williams’ One Story Up.
Now Avery is Staff Co-Producer of WILLA and of ANOTHER BODY (SXSW Special Jury Award, Sundance Catalyst). As Staff Co-Producer Avery manages the WILLA team and coordination efforts for projects throughout all stages of production, ranging from pre-production grant writing and research, production field producing and shoot management, as well as post production needs such as deliveries and legal requirements as it relates to archival and music licensing.
Avery attended Dartmouth College, with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. Outside of her passion for social driven documentaries, Avery is a voracious reader and cultural enthusiast – as a recent transplant to Baltimore, you will probably find her hunting for the latest exhibits and restaurant openings, but more often than not chasing around her new puppy.
